Justice For All Takes Action: Highlighting Israel’s Role in Hind Rajab’s Death Through Submission to the International Criminal Court

Justice For All Files War Crimes Case Against Israel Occupation Forces for Murder of 6-year-old Hind Rajab

Today, Justice For All submitted a case to the International Criminal Court (ICC) charging the Israeli military with multiple war crimes for the killing of the 6-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab.
Hind made international headlines on January 29, when she was heard on a recorded emergency call to the Red Crescent Society begging someone to rescue her from the family car that an Israeli tank pummeled with bullets, killing several members of her family inside the car with her. The case
“The actions of the Israeli Occupation Forces are extremely egregious and should shock the conscience of any human being with a heart,” said President of Justice for All, Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid. “Their actions display an utter disregard for civilians and innocent human life and violate multiple provisions of the Rome Statute, Geneva Conventions and every norm of international humanitarian law.”

The ICC has jurisdiction under the Rome Statute, which makes it a war crime to target civilians and others protected by the Geneva Conventions, including children, who are to be given special protection, as well as medical personnel and ambulances.
Over 70 percent of the more than 28,000 Palestinians killed in Israel’s military operations against Gaza to date are children. A Palestinian child is killed every 4 minutes in Gaza. Every day since October 7, 2023, an average of 10 children in Gaza lost one or both legs. The ICC complaint alleges that the actions of the Israel’s Occupation Forces in killing and maiming children utterly disregards the rules of distinction and proportionality and flaunts the most basic tenets of international humanitarian law. Further, the psychological and physical impacts on the children of Gaza and the broader Palestinian community are profound, exacerbating an already dire humanitarian situation.
Justice for All urges the International Criminal Court to make every effort in its power to hold accountable the individuals responsible for Hind’s killing, and provide her family with justice for the taking of their daughter.
The Hind Rajab case is the first of hundreds of cases Justice for All is preparing to file in the ICC over the Israeli military’s war crimes in prosecuting its war in Gaza and its actions in the occupied West Bank.
