Justice For All Honors World Humanitarian Day 2025: A Call to Protect Gaza’s Lifelines

On World Humanitarian Day, Justice For All stands in solemn tribute to the hundreds of aid workers, medics and journalists killed in Gaza since October 7, 2023. Their courage in risking their lives to deliver food, treat the wounded and document war crimes demands more than remembrance – it demands action.

Over 500 humanitarian workers and 242 journalists have been killed in Gaza, making it one of the deadliest conflicts for humanitarian workers in history. Hospitals have become battlegrounds. Food queues are killing zones. Due to Israel’s blockade of food and medicines, at least 100 children have died from malnutrition.

UNRWA remains a lifeline for Gaza’s 2.1 million people, providing 1.5 million health consultations and shelter for nearly 100,000 displaced, despite defunding and attacks on operations. UNRWA has not been allowed to bring any humanitarian aid for more than five months, including medicines and medical supplies. Aid trucks remain blocked by Israel at the border with enough food to feed all of Gaza for three months. “Cutting its funding while children die of starvation isn’t policy–it’s complicity in genocide,” said Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, President of Justice For All.

On this World Humanitarian Day, Justice For All calls on the United States and the international community to:

1. Urge Israel to cease targeting humanitarian workers.
2. Urge Israel to immediately lift all restrictions on the flow of aid.
3. Restore full funding for UNRWA.
4. Impose an arms embargo on Israel
5. Hold Israel  accountable for its killings of humanitarian workers.

“History will judge whether the world acted to stop the Israeli caused famine and slaughter of Palestinians or looked away,” said Imam Saffet Catovic, Director of U.N. Operations.
