Who we are

Justice For All is an American Human Rights organization, specifically advocating for the rights of Muslim minorities. Its main office is located in Chicago, with additional teams in Washington DC, Boston, New York, Toronto, and Ottawa.

Justice For All operates as a non-governmental organization (NGO) and is accredited at the United Nations (DPI status). It is recognized as a not-for-profit 501(C)3 entity (EIN: 36-4293503), and all donations are tax-exempt by US law.

The organization receives funding from donors who are deeply committed to promoting human rights both in the United States and internationally.

What we do

Justice for All currently operates several campaigns and programs to address issues that do not receive enough international, public and political support. Since 2012, our focus has been to raise awareness regarding the persecution of ethnic and religious minorities in Burma. We promote policies that protect religious freedom, address the root causes of mass displacement, and recognize the plight of refugees and forced migrants.

Burma Task Force, our most active program, supports a more robust US and international response to the Rohingya Genocide. Using media and social media this program aims to engage and mobilize grassroots community members to demand policies that protect human rights and support humanitarian aid.

Recent Developments

Since 2017, our Washington DC staff has worked to inform policymakers regarding the persecution and genocidal policies in Burma. In early 2018, Justice for All developed a parallel partnership for interfaith coalition building as part of the Faith Coalition Against Genocide. We have also increasingly emphasized inter-ethnic solidarity among leaders in the Burmese diaspora, convening meetings and conferences.

In summer 2018, the State Department released a strong report on the Rohingya and in late 2018 the House of Representatives passed a strong resolution on Burma with a 394 to 1 vote. Through organized advocacy days on the Hill, as well as the help of DC based consultants, we have worked to pass legislation in Congress, including sanctions, and to ensure effective language is included in the appropriations bills.  While working to build awareness on a grassroots level, we have also maintained our regular presence at the United Nations.

To respond to emerging crises, we developed the Save Uyghur program in early 2019 and helped organize rallies and panels in partnership with Uyghur leadership in the USA. We also organized Kashmir programmimg while also continuing to raise awareness of the plight of Muslim and other minorities in India. Along with productive meetings with officials, and organizational letters involving Nobel Prize winners and prominent NGOs, our Petition asking the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation not to honor Prime Minister Modi gained more than 100,000 signatures.
