Justice For All Condemns Escalating Violence in the Middle East and Calls for an Immediate Ceasefire During Ramadan

Justice For All expresses profound grief and deep concern over the Israeli-U.S. attack on Iran, which has already resulted in the death of 165 at an Iranian girls’ school.  About 15 countries with hundreds of millions of population are currently in the expanded war zones as a result of Iranian retaliation.

This war is directly connected to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Israel, enabled by its powerful lobby in the U.S., continues to kill Palestinian children while now bombing Iranian schools. The recent killing of children in attacks on two schools is a moral outrage.

We are guided by the Qur’anic principle that taking a single innocent life is like killing all of humanity (5:32). We unequivocally condemn the killing of all civilians, regardless of nationality. As Muslims fast this month, we must uphold our duty to stand up for justice (Quran 4:135). Silence will not help anyone.

Justice For All calls for the following:

  1. An Immediate and Sustained Ceasefire.
  2. Protection of Civilians.
  3. Return to Diplomacy.
  4. Unrestricted Humanitarian Access.

We express solidarity with all civilians caught in the crossfire. Justice For All affirms that peace is not passivity; it is a principled and courageous undertaking. We invite civil society, faith leaders and people across the world to join us in rejecting dehumanization and choosing the urgent work of peace and justice.
