Justice For All Statement on B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel’s Genocide Declaration

July 28, 2025

Justice For All, a leading anti-genocide organization accredited to the United Nations, welcomes the long-overdue statement by Israeli human rights organizations, B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel, who have now declared unequivocally that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza and calling for international intervention. We commend their courage in naming what countless legal experts, humanitarian agencies, and eyewitnesses have documented for months: this is not merely a “war,” this is a campaign of extermination.

We call on all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council: the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, and Russia, to immediately convene an emergency session to address these new declarations. These countries have a legal and moral obligation under the Genocide Convention and the UN Charter to act decisively. Specifically:

  • Convene an emergency Security Council meeting to discuss the findings of these Israeli organizations and take up the question of genocide
  • Impose an immediate arms embargo on Israel
  • Deploy international peacekeepers along the borders of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories to prevent further mass atrocities
  • Force Israel to lift all restrictions to humanitarian access to Gaza, including food, water, and medical aid to roll back the ongoing famine

Justice For All recognized this genocide early on, rooted in our rigorous research, analysis of state intent, and on-the-ground patterns of annihilation. Our comprehensive report, “Genocide, Apartheid, and Occupation in Palestine” (2024), laid out the systematic targeting of civilians, use of starvation as a weapon of war, destruction of critical infrastructure, and dehumanizing incitement by Israeli leaders. That report remains a stark warning and a call to action. Now, with even Israeli voices acknowledging genocide, the international community has no excuse for silence.

Genocide is not an internal matter. It is the “crime of crimes,” one that obligates intervention, not hesitation. The time for diplomatic hedging is over. The time for action is now.
