Caste System as a Tool for Hindu Supremacy-min

Caste and its Implications in Indian Society:

This series of articles explores the issues surrounding caste and Indian society. Caste is encoded within Hinduism, and is technically illegal in India. However, issues have persisted through the years since Indian independence. Also, with the resurgence of Hindu nationalism and fascism, the RSS and its Sangh Parivar (family of organizations inspired by Hindutva ideology) has been promoting a return to the full caste system. This is not just tradition. Its a system where the out-of-caste, people considered so low by their birth heritage, are considered impure and untouchable. Islam and Christianity in India appealed to this class and many converted to the Abrahamic faiths. Sikhism also destroyed the caste hierarchy and the Khalsa movement strongly opposed caste.
