ICE Arrests Driver of Justice For All Billboard Truck on Gaza Famine in Front of NBC Headquarters

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C.

August 21, 2025

Justice For All unequivocally condemns the arrest of a contracted truck driver by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while operating a digital billboard truck outside NBC headquarters in Washington, D.C.

The truck, commissioned by Justice For All, a human rights organization, was displaying urgent messaging on starvation in Palestine by Israel. The message primarily was President Trump’s following statement: “We can save a lot of people. I mean, some of those kids are. That’s real starvation stuff. I see it. And you can’t fake that.”

The digital truck, which was impounded adjacent to NBC’s DC offices, was part of a peaceful, constitutionally protected effort to raise awareness of the preventable starvation of Palestinian children and to call for urgent humanitarian action from President Trump. ICE intervention and arrest of the driver, sends a chilling message that advocacy on Palestine will be met with intimidation and retaliation from authorities who should instead be protecting such opinion. Several witnesses outside NBC headquarters took photos and videos of the many ICE officers who made the arrest (attached)

“America can and must intervene to reverse starvation in Gaza,”: said Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, President of Justice For All. “It is simply un-American to disrupt a constitutionally protected, respectful message to intervene to stop starvation.”

Justice For All calls on elected officials, civil liberties advocates, and the public to stand against this dangerous precedent and defend the right to speak out against starvation,” said Hena Zuberi, Director of DC Operations for Justice For All.

Justice For All is calling for:

  1. An immediate investigation into the arrest, including whether ICE acted under political pressure to suppress advocacy.
  2. Full and fair legal representation for the truck driver, whose livelihood, freedom and family are now at risk due to his participation in a lawful campaign.
  3. Assurances from federal authorities that public awareness campaigns highlighting humanitarian concerns in Gaza will not be met with intimidation or retaliation.

This campaign was launched to amplify the urgency of the starvation in Gaza, an atrocity recognized by humanitarian experts, media, and policymakers as preventable. President Trump’s own words confirm the reality. Children in Gaza are starving, and this truth cannot be dismissed or hidden.

Justice For All is a nonprofit human rights organization based in the United States, dedicated to advocacy for persecuted minorities globally. It has led major campaigns for Rohingya, Uyghurs, Palestinians, Kashmiris, and Indian minorities, and engages in U.S. and international policy efforts to combat genocide, apartheid, and systemic oppression.
