Justice For All Welcomes U.S.-Iran Agreement, Calls for Israeli Withdrawal From Lebanon, End to Gaza Genocide and Respect for Syrian Sovereignty

SUMMARY: Justice For All welcomes the Memorandum of Understanding to end the war between the United States and Iran. In the spirit of ending violence across the region, we call for the international community to move toward peace in the region and for Israel in particular to end its invasion of Lebanon, encroachments into Syria, and genocide in Palestine. We also call for the meaningful enforcement of international resolutions in order to end the spree of violence and impunity that has marked Israel’s interactions with its neighbours.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK (June 18, 2026) – Justice For All welcomes the newly signed Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, aimed at reducing tensions and preventing further regional escalation. The organization acknowledges the mediation efforts led by Pakistan with support from Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Qatar.

The effectiveness of any agreement depends on implementation, verification and adherence by all parties. “Anything that reduces the risk of continuing war and creates space for diplomacy is good, but lasting peace requires accountability, respect for international law and sustained international engagement,” said Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid, President of Justice For All.

“The international community should approach this development with cautious optimism,” said Imam Saffet Catovic, Justice For All’s Director of U.N. Operations. “The test of this agreement will be whether it contributes to broader respect for international law and helps create momentum toward ending violence across the region. Peace will remain fragile unless governments address the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the crises in Lebanon and Syria. The international community must ensure that commitments are honored and that violations carry consequences.”

We call upon Israel to withdraw from Lebanon in accordance with relevant U.N. Security Council resolutions and international law, urge an end to military actions that violate Syrian sovereignty and international law, implore an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, unrestricted humanitarian access, the protection of civilians and accountability for violations of international humanitarian law in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and call upon the U.N. Security Council to review the agreement and establish an independent monitoring mechanism to strengthen transparency, compliance and international oversight. Many previous agreements and Security Council resolutions affecting the region have not been fully enforced, underscoring the need for credible monitoring, public reporting and accountability measures.

Justice For All urges all parties to comply with their obligations under international law and prioritize the protection of civilians.
