The FY2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes Section 219, a provision that would significantly integrate U.S.-Israel military technology and industrial cooperation.
This action is a major policy change and should not move forward without public hearings, thorough review of its long-term strategic and financial implications, and strong congressional oversight. They also raise concerns about expanding military ties with Israel’s genocide against Palestinians.

Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya – A Prisoner of Haqq
Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a 52-year-old Palestinian pediatrician and the former director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, is now serving over 18 months of arbitrary detention without charge by the Israeli military.
He has been subjected to systematic torture, severe physical abuse and solitary confinement in Nitzan Prison. His health has critically deteriorated, with medical professionals warning he faces a risk of “imminent death.”
His only “crime” is his refusal to abandon his patients during the Israeli assault on Gaza, where he provided care to wounded and starving children despite the destruction of his hospital. Read the statement for more.

Student protests wind down: Muslims arrested
After student protests at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar helped force Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, India’s police and administrative machinery appear to be turning toward punishment. Muslim protesters and supporters are already facing the harshest backlash.
Mohammad Junaid, who reportedly provided food and water to protesters, says police raided his home in Uttar Pradesh, seized documents and harassed his family. In Assam, three Muslims were reportedly arrested for planning peaceful solidarity protests, while five others were detained as they returned to Jamia Millia Islamia. Authorities’ use of “anti-national” rhetoric, long weaponized against Indian Muslims, is now widening to students across India.

Rohingya Footballer Among Hundreds Feared Dead at Sea
500 Rohingya missing at sea: “Please pray for me and for all the passengers. We are risking our lives, but there is nothing else we can do,” he said. “I can’t tolerate this life.” Last message from Rohingya footballer
The family of 24-year-old Rohingya footballer Siraz Ullah fears he is among roughly 500 Rohingya refugees missing at sea after boats left for Malaysia in late June.
Before boarding, Siraz sent his family a voice message asking for prayers.
“Please pray for me and for all the passengers. We are risking our lives, but there is nothing else we can do,” he said. “I can’t tolerate this life.”
Siraz had hoped to escape violence and persecution in Burma and pursue his dream of playing football professionally in Malaysia. Instead, he joined thousands of Rohingya who have risked dangerous sea journeys this year as conditions worsen in Burma’s Arakan region and Bangladesh’s refugee camps.
Siraz’s final message is a reminder that Rohingya refugees are not choosing danger. They are being pushed toward it.

Imam Saffet Catovic Warns Against Turning Peace in Bosnia Into Corporate Profit
Imam Saffet Catovic, former Bosnian diplomat and Justice For All’s director of United Nations operations, is warning against efforts to turn peacebuilding in Bosnia and Herzegovina into a vehicle for corporate gain.
The reported U.S. push to advance the controversial $1 billion Southern Interconnection gas pipeline has drawn sharp concern, especially amid allegations that the project was awarded without a competitive bidding process. Critics warn that the deal raises serious corruption concerns, could empower secessionist agendas and would lock Bosnia and Herzegovina into a fossil-fuel future.
The pipeline would cut through protected natural sites and river crossings, threatening the country’s environmental heritage. At full capacity, it is expected to release an estimated 3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide each year, even as environmental groups point to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s vast renewable energy potential.
