Nine Americans Killed. No Accountability. Tell the Senate to Act on Israel
Nine Americans have been killed by Israeli settlers or Israeli security forces in the occupied West Bank since 2022. Their families are still waiting for justice.
Meanwhile, Palestinians face escalating settler attacks, military violence, displacement and the detention, with billions of OUR dollars.
Senators now have an opportunity to do more than issue another appeal to the Israeli government. A new resolution led by Sens. Chris Van Hollen, Tim Kaine and Bernie Sanders would use U.S. law to compel the State Department to report what it knows about these killings and Israel’s wider human rights practices.

End TIFF’s Double Standard: Ban Israeli State-Backed Films
The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) banned Russian state-backed films in March 2022 following the invasion of Ukraine. Yet TIFF is now giving a world premiere to “Our Loves,” an Israeli film produced with at least $148 million in funding from Israel’s Ministry of Culture and Sport. This is a glaring double standard. Israel’s actions in Gaza have killed over 73,000 Palestinians—far exceeding any threshold that justified the Russian film ban. Demand that TIFF either reinstate Russian films or extend the same suspension to Israeli state-backed films, starting with the immediate removal of “Our Loves” from the 2026 festival lineup.

Save Uyghur Campaign Condemns China’s Continued Atrocities and Deceptive Cover-Ups in Occupied East Turkistan
Four years later, the Save Uyghur Campaign highlights that while Beijing has repeatedly claimed these “camps” are closed and all “trainees” have “graduated,” the highly repressive legal and policy framework that underpinned the entire internment system remains fully intact and can be re-engaged at any moment. In reality, the CCP has simply pivoted its strategy from extrajudicial camps to formal, long-term imprisonments. During the height of the crackdown, criminal sentences of five years or longer skyrocketed by ten-fold, with courts sentencing 86,655 individuals in 2017 alone. Hundreds of thousands of Uyghur scholars, artists, intellectuals and ordinary citizens continue to serve these lengthy, unjust sentences in an expanded network of high-security prisons today. WHO GAVE THE U.S. AMBASSADOR THE RIGHT TO GIVE KASHMIR TO INDIA
Justice For All, a global human rights organization through its Kashmir Action campaign, strongly condemns the recent remarks by U.S. Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. Characterizing the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir as an “important part of India” directly contradicts the region’s internationally recognized status and undermines the fundamental right of its people to self-determination as enshrined in multiple U.N. Security Council resolutions.

Justice For All Stands with Mayor Mamdani in Opposing RSS Chief’s Visit
On August 29, Justice For All, alongside the Indian American Muslim Council and Hindus for Human Rights, and others helped organize a protest outside Madison Square Garden that received wide media coverage. Imam Saffet Catovic, Justice For All’s Director of U.N. Operations, spoke alongside community advocates against RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s NYC appearance. The action builds on Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s declaration that Bhagwat and RSS ideology are “not welcome” in the city, a stance Justice For All helped urge him to take.

Malaysia to return 1,500 Rohingya refugees next month, despite safety fears
Malaysia has finalised the first phase of a voluntary repatriation programme that will see at least 1,500 eligible Myanmar refugees return home on September 29, the government said. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced in July that Myanmar’s military-backed government had agreed to take back 5,000 members of the persecuted Rohingya minority amid rising tensions with local communities in Malaysia. It said more than 4,000 individuals, primarily of ethnic Rohingya, will be channeled into the Refugee Registration Document (DPP) programme, while 5,000 others will undergo the voluntary repatriation process, as agreed with Myanmar. There were 10,388 Myanmar nationals held at immigration detention depots by mid-August, the ministry said, with not all considered refugees. Conditions for a safe, dignified and voluntary return to Burma do not currently exist because the Myanmar military continued to commit war crimes and crimes against humanity.

RATKO MLADIĆ DIES IN UN PRISON
Ratko Mladić, the Bosnian Serb military commander known as the “Butcher of Bosnia,” has died at a prison hospital in The Hague while serving a life sentence for war crimes.
In 2017, the ICTY convicted Mladić of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes committed during Bosnia’s 1992–95 war.
He was held responsible for atrocities including the 1995 Srebrenica genocide, in which more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys were murdered.
The victims of Srebrenica must never be forgotten. Justice and accountability matter. |
