Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Welcomes 43 New Additions to UFLPA List

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 3, 2026)

Justice For All’s Save Uyghur campaign welcomes the decision by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to add 43 Chinese firms to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) Entity List. This expansion, announced on July 31 and taking effect today, brings the total number of listed companies to 187, marking a step forward in the global effort to eliminate forced labor from international supply chains.

The newly listed entities span a wide range of critical sectors, including aluminum and battery foil, cotton and textiles, gold and mining, pharmaceuticals, and food and agriculture. Notably, the expansion includes major industry players such as Tianshan Aluminum Group Co., Ltd., one of the region’s largest aluminum producers, and Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group Co., Ltd., one of the world’s largest cotton and aluminum producers.

Statement from Arslan Hidayat, Save Uyghur Team Lead:

“We applaud the DHS for this robust expansion of the UFLPA Entity List. By adding 43 companies, nearly half of which operate outside of East Turksitan, the U.S. government is sending a clear message that the reach of the Chinese Communist Party’s forced labor regime is vast and will not be tolerated, regardless of where the factory is located. For too long, companies like Tianshan Aluminum and Shandong Weiqiao have profited from the state-sponsored exploitation of Uyghurs and other Turkic peoples. While we celebrate this progress, we note that many of these firms were identified as high-risk by independent researchers years ago; we urge the FLETF to continue accelerating these designations to ensure that no products made with the blood and sweat of my people reach American shores.”

The inclusion of these firms triggers a rebuttable presumption that any goods they produce, or that incorporate their inputs, are made with forced labor and are prohibited from entering the United States. Importers must now provide “clear and convincing evidence” that their supply chains are free of forced labor, a requirement that now extends to complex networks involving EV batteries, pharmaceutical ingredients, and industrial materials.

Save Uyghur remains committed to advocating for the full enforcement of the UFLPA and calls on the international community to follow this lead in holding the Chinese government and its corporate accomplices accountable for ongoing human rights violations.
