Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign Condemns Upcoming White House State Visit of Xi Jinping

WASHINGTON, D.C. (September 9, 2026)

Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign strongly condemns the state visit of Chinese Communist Party (CCP) General Secretary Xi Jinping to Washington, D.C., beginning September 24, 2026. Receiving the chief architect of the ongoing Uyghur genocide with full diplomatic honors normalizes crimes against humanity and elevates transactional economic expediency above statutory human rights commitments.

This state visit directly contradicts official U.S. determinations and bipartisan policy commitments. The U.S. Department of State formally recognized that the Chinese regime under Xi Jinping is actively committing genocide and crimes against humanity against Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslim populations in occupied East Turkistan – a designation first established in 2021 and subsequentlymaintained by the U.S. government. Furthermore, on June 16, 2026, the United States Senate unanimously passed Senate Resolution 444 (S.Res. 444), which formally condemned Xi Jinping as a dictator for deceit, undermining peace and security, and orchestrating a “horrific, modern-day genocide.”

The Save Uyghur Campaign further warns that negotiating bilateral resource or trade agreements, specifically involving rare earth minerals lithium and graphite, threatens the integrity of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). Enacted to prevent U.S. complicity in state-sponsored forced labor, the UFLPA establishes a strict rebuttable presumption that all goods mined, produced or manufactured in East Turkistan involve state-directed forced labor and are barred from entry into the United States.

“The systematic persecution of Uyghurs is not a historical relic; it is an ongoing, active genocide,” stated Arslan Hidayat, Team Lead of the Save Uyghur Campaign. “Millions of our brothers and sisters continue to languish in high-security prisons, subjected to forced labor, torture and cultural erasure. The Senate’s explicit recognition of our homeland as East Turkistan in S.Res. 444 was a powerful validation of our identity. To see the White House now welcome the dictator responsible for these horrors is a devastating betrayal. Every economic deal signed without human rights accountability is a moral stain.”

Justice For All’s Save Uyghur Campaign calls on U.S. leadership to immediately uphold human rights accountability by enforcing the UFLPA without exceptions, executing targeted Global Magnitsky Act sanctions against complicit CCP officials and placing human rights above economic concessions.
